How do I update my site using FTP from FrontPage?

FrontPage web publishing is a quick and easy way to get your site onto the web. When uploading by FTP, FrontPage's advanced features (such as e-mail forms) will not function. To use FrontPage's advanced features, you will need FrontPage extensions enabled on your domain. If you are unsure whether this is the case, please contact us.

Click File, on the menu bar at the top of FrontPage, then click on 'Publish Web'.
This will bring up a dialog box (pictured below) where you can enter your publish destination.

As this image illustrates, you enter the address of your website into the box under "Enter publish destination:". Replace ftp.the-domain.co.uk with the ftp address of your site. For the publishing process to be successful, the name of your website address must be prefixed with ftp:// and postfixed with public_html/

After you click 'OK' you will be asked to enter your username and password, as shown below:

The way this box is displayed may differ slightly from system to system, but the usage is always the same.

Enter the username and password you were given when you joined netring.co.uk. Another dialog box will appear, simply click 'Publish' and FrontPage will then update your site.
